• Unlocked achievements and badges

4. Data Processing and Storage

4.1 Local Processing

• Audio analysis: All microphone input is processed locally using real-time volume analysis algorithms
• Breath detection: Breathing patterns are identified on-device through signal processing
• Privacy by design: Audio data never leaves your device

4.2 Server Processing

• Poetry generation: Breath detection results (not audio) are sent to our backend server
• AI processing: DeepSeek LLM generates poetic content based on breathing context
• Session storage: Session records and generated poems are stored for history viewing

4.3 Data Storage

• Local storage: User preferences and cached data stored on device
• Server storage: Session history and generated content stored in our SQLite database
• Retention period: Data is retained as long as you use the application or until you request deletion

5. Third-Party Services

BreathScape uses the following third-party services:

• Expo: Application framework and development platform (Expo Privacy Policy)
• DeepSeek: AI language model for poetry generation (DeepSeek Privacy Policy)

6. Permissions

BreathScape requires the following permissions:

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Required for detecting your breathing rhythm. Audio is processed locally and not stored or uploaded.
• Audio Settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS): Used to optimize audio capture for breath detection.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings. Note that revoking microphone permission will disable the core breathing detection feature.
